CLU International Business School Visits From Austria


Last week, Roadrunner Shuttle provided transportation for the Graduates of Cal Lutheran’s International Business School Austria!

The IBSA International Business School Austria is CLU’s cooperation partner in Europe. The program enables CLU to deliver its International MBA program in Austria where there are 7 weekend courses in Austria with instructors that fly in from the US, 6 courses in a virtual class room including weekly live chat sessions with the instructors in California, remarkable study trip to Thousand Oaks, including 2 final classes, company visits, guest speakers and participation in the annual commencement ceremony at CLU.

With beaches in every city to diverse cultural affairs to the red carpet in Hollywood, there’s no wonder why SoCal is the ideal place to visit for students just graduating college.

Below we’ve provided *some places of interest, activities and top places to eat for those visiting Ventura County.

Places of Interest:

The Oaks Shopping Mall ( The Oaks Shopping Center is a two level indoor/outdoor, super regional shopping mall located in Thousand Oaks, California. Midway between downtown Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, it is one of two malls in its area and the largest shopping center in Ventura County. The mall includes a Muvico 14-screen stadium seat theater and Bogarts, a full-service restaurant. Centered on the theater are four sit-down restaurants: Lazy Dog Cafe, Red Robin, Olive Garden, and Red Lobster; with additional restaurants and a food court located inside the mall.

The Civic Arts Plaza ( The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts PLaza was built by decision of the Thousand Oaks City Council and opened the theaters for their inaugural season in October 1994. The complex, including Bank of America Performing Arts Center and the parking structure, is owned by the City of Thousand Oaks and is operated by the City’s Cultural Affairs Department. Thousand Oaks City Hall and the 3-acre Mary and Richard Carpenter Plaza Park are also located here. Many different events are held on the various stages here throughout the year.

Ventura Pier and Promenade ( Since 1872, the Ventura Pier has stood as a symbol of the region’s rich history and natural resources. Once the cornerstone of Ventura County’s agricultural, construction and oil trade; today the Ventura Pier is a favorite attraction for fishing, picnics, sunset strolls and beautiful views of Ventura County’s coastline and the Channel Islands.

Camarillo Outlets ( Camarillo Premium Outlets is conveniently located off highway 101, exit Las Posas Road north/south. Among the 160 stores at Camarillo Premium Outlets features Banana Republic, Coach, Michael Kors, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tory Burch, Tommy Hilfiger and much more. There are many exciting dining options from sit down places such as Johnny Rockets, Los Arroyos Mexican Restaurant, Panera Bread and to grab and go choices such as Charley Grilled Subs and Starbucks.


Griffith Observatory ( is a facility sitting on the south-facing slope of Mount Hollywood in Los Angeles’ Griffith Park. It commands a view of the Los Angeles Basin, including Downtown Los Angeles to the southeast, Hollywood to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the southwest. The observatory is a popular tourist attraction with an extensive array of space and science-related displays. Since the observatory opened in 1935, admission has been free, in accordance with Griffith’s will. (Be sure to visit a night for a great experience!)

Six Flags Magic Mountain ( is a 262 acre theme park located in Valencia, California, north of Los Angeles. With 19 roller coasters, Six Flags Magic Mountain holds the world record for most roller coasters in an amusement park. In 2013, the park had an estimated 2.9 million visitors ranking it fifth in attendance among seasonal amusement parks in North America.

Los Angeles County Museum of Art ( is an art museum located on Wilshire Boulevard in the Miracle Mile vicinity of Los Angeles. LACMA is on Museum Row, adjacent to the George C. Page Museum and La Brea Tar Pits. LACMA is the largest art museum in the Western United States. It attracts nearly a million visitors annually. It holds more than 120,000 works spanning the history of art from ancient times to the present. In addition to art exhibits, the museum features film and concert series.

Universal Stuios Hollywood ( is a film studio and theme park in the unincorporated Universal City community of the San Fernando Valley region of the city of Los Angeles. It is one of the oldest and most famous Hollywood film studios still in use. Its official marketing headline is “The Entertainment Capital of LA”. It was initially created to offer tours of the real Universal Studios sets and is the first of many full-fledged Universal Studios Theme Parks located across the world.
