Roadrunner Shuttle & Limousine adds Solvang, Lompoc to its service area

Roadrunner Shuttle & Limousine Service recently secured contracts to manage the fixed-route and Dial-a-Ride services for the cities of Solvang and Lompoc.

As a result, the company will increase its workforce by 10 percent, adding a little more than 400 employees, said Charles Brad “Brick” Conners, the new chief executive officer.

Conners said Roadrunner will expand its currently operated airport shuttles, black car and limousine services, charter and fixed-route buses, general para transit and ADA Dial-a-Ride services into the Solvang and Lompoc areas.

Conners is a former naval officer and aviator who trained some of the country’s top ranking naval officers and pilots during his career.

The company, founded by Desmond and Sue Sandlin, celebrated its 25th anniversary July 1.

Its newest contracts will help it achieve its long-term strategies by spreading its services farther into Santa Barbara County, a company spokesman said.

“Our goal is to manage all private and public transportation services in the Tri-Counties,” said Charles Sandlin, chief operating officer. “We see a need for local leadership and enhanced oversight in providing quality transportation within the region, and we want to provide that.”
