Roadrunner Named 2017 Small Business of the Year by the City of Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA, May 1, 2017 – Roadrunner, one of the fastest-growing and most diverse passenger transportation firms, today was named the 2017 Small Business of the Year by the City of Los Angeles. This award recognizes small businesses that have a history of outstanding business practices in the Los Angeles community and to honor the entrepreneurship, sustainability, service and effort put forth in a small business.
“We are honored and thankful for this award, which is largely due to our employees and their efforts. We would not be the company we are without their hard work, creativity, and talent,” said Brick Conners, Roadrunner’s Chief Executive Officer. “A successful business also needs the support of the communities around them, and we are thankful for the opportunities and growth here in Los Angeles.”
Roadrunner was one of many finalists for the award, receiving high marks for its outstanding management philosophy, business innovation, employee satisfaction, customer service and community involvement. Roadrunner values creating and maintaining lasting relationships with their customers, building the business on a firm foundation of strong interpersonal ties. Roadrunner’s customer service excellence was recognized by the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce and California’s 19th Senate District with a 2010 Small Business Recognition Award for their excellent support and dedication.
To select finalists, the City of Los Angeles required businesses to participate in a written application process. A team of business leaders conducted on-site visits and interviews with each finalist, which included Ray Boman of the Economic Development Collaborative – Ventura County Small Business Development Center. The winners were then announced at The Annual Mayor Eric Garcetti’s Small Business Recognition Ceremony, held May 1, 2017 at Los Angeles City Hall. More than 500 business leaders attended the event.
